This program provides up to 80% federal funding for each project, with a minimum 20% non-federal match required, to be supplied by grant applicants. The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) administers these funds through a competitive grant process.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>News<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Based on new guidance from the Federal Highway Administration, the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs has developed a new state plan for the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Fund. This plan was submitted to the Federal Highway Administration and was approved on September 9, 2025. Anyone interested in electric vehicle charging infrastructure, sharing information, or commenting on the development of the plan is encouraged to submit comments to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:ev@adeca.alabama.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ev@adeca.alabama.gov<\/a>.
