The staff of these offices work to engage with local law enforcement agencies in their respective regions to implement traffic enforcement efforts in these areas as well as education and awareness related to traffic safety.<\/p>\n<p>These agencies receive awards to provide traffic enforcement efforts that are in addition to the regularly scheduled patrols that take place. These programs include the NHTSA funded Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP), the Impaired Driving Program, as well as the national \u201cDriver Sober or Get Pulled Over\u201d impaired driving campaign and \u201cClick It or Ticket\u201d occupant restraint program.
