U.S. Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Now all U.S. citizens can receive their blank ballots electronically. Depending on the state in which you are eligible to vote, you may get your ballot by email, fax, or internet download. To start, go to Federal Voting Assistance Program to complete a new Federal Post Card Application (FPCA), print and sign the form then return it to your local election office in the United States.

DROP OFF YOUR BALLOT AT THE EMBASSY OR MAIL IT TO OUR ADDRESS

If your state requires you to return paper voting forms or ballots to local election officials, you can do so free of charge at U.S. Embassy Sarajevo, and your ballot will be mailed through our diplomatic pouch. The diplomatic pouch provides free mail service from embassies and consulates to a U.S. sorting facility. Please note that it can take anywhere between six to eight weeks for mail to reach its destination if sent by an embassy or consulate via diplomatic pouch.

If using the diplomatic pouch, ballots can be delivered to the American Citizens Services section by mail at our address or dropped off in person at the U.S. Embassy’s consular entrance weekdays from 8:00 to 16:00. You will need to place your ballots in postage paid return envelope or in an envelope bearing sufficient domestic U.S. postage and address them to the relevant local election officials. You may also return your FPCA  or ballot to your local election officials via international mail or professional courier service at your own expense.
