U.S. Embassy in Bangladesh

Ambassador Christensen launched 50 red-white- and-blue rickshaws on May 19 as part of Mission Dhaka’s Freedom 250 celebrations. The vibrant fleet celebrates the United States’ 250th birthday, through one of Dhaka’s most recognizable cultural icons, the rickshaw. Thanks to the Gulshan Society, the talented rickshaw artists, and the dedicated rickshaw pullers for partnering with us to bring this celebration to you.

On April 29, Ambassador Christensen inaugurated Dhaka’s first Founders Museum at Mission Dhaka’s flagship American Space, the EMK Center. The mobile exhibit, translated into Bangla, remained at the EMK Center for a month before moving to Justice Shahabuddin park in Gulshan, Dhaka. The Founders Museum will soon be displayed at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet.

On April 11, Mission Dhaka played a friendly cricket match alongside the Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association. With cricket returning to the 2028 Summer Olympics, the United States is excited about this global event. Mission Dhaka is leading the way with an upcoming State Department-funded cricket exchange that will bring Americans and Bangladeshi cricket enthusiasts together.
