Potential Traffic Alert
Location: Gulshan, Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, and surrounding areas, Dhaka, Bangladesh
Event: Per media reports, the Bangladesh National Party (BNP) plans a large gathering along the Purbachal Expressway (“300 Feet Road”) and routes from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Gulshan in Dhaka on Thursday, December 25, starting at 11:45 a.m., to mark the return of acting Chairperson Tarique Rahman. Heavy traffic congestion is expected.
Individuals with planned travel in or around Dhaka during this time should allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes. Travelers to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport should carry their airline ticket and travel documents, and be ready to show them at police checkpoints.
