The U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Canada are not able to provide assistance with Social Security services. Unfortunately, we cannot respond to inquiries by phone, email, or in person regarding Social Security matters.

If you are residing in Canada and need support with a Social Security application or have questions about your benefits, you have the following options:

      • Visit www.ssa.gov for fast, simple and secure online services.
      • Visit www.ssa.gov/foreign/canada.htm to find the office that services your area.
      • Contact your nearest Federal Benefits Unit (FBU). Visit www.ssa.gov/foreign/foreign.htm for a list of FBUs.
      • Contact the National Teleservice Center at 1-800-772-1213.
      • Contact the International Call Center at 1-410-965-0160.
      • Write to the Social Security Administration at:

Please note that the Social Security Administration may require you to visit a U.S. field office in person to complete certain services.
