Important Note: Planned Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) Updates in Grant Application Forms

Starting on April 4, 2022, the Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) Number has been replaced by a “new, non-proprietary identifier” requested in, and assigned by, the System for Award Management (SAM.gov).

NOTICE OF FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

When United States federal funding is available, the U.S. Embassy in Nicosia offers federal assistance (grants), via the Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program, in support of projects that strengthen ties and advance relations between the United States and Cyprus, in line with U.S. administration and Embassy Nicosia’s goals.

At this time, we are not currently accepting proposals.  We will announce new opportunities, as funding comes available, through a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), published on this page and https://grants.gov.  The NOFO will describe key elements and expectations of a proposal package, helpful resources on the process, and will establish the time window in which proposal submissions will be accepted for review.

Please continue checking this page or Embassy Nicosia’s social media channels for updates.  We thank you for your interest in U.S. federal assistance.

Organizations: Step-by-Step Guide

If your proposal is selected for funding:

  1. The Embassy will email you the Federal Assistance Award (grant contract).  Review the document and regulations, sign and date the award, and return it to the Public Affairs Section via email to grantsnicosia@state.gov within 10 days.
  2. Review the U.S. Department of State Standard Terms and Conditions – Updated Oct. 1, 2024 (pdf-355kb) for Federal Awards.
  3. Request the award funds using the SF-270 form (pdf-185kb) – Filling Instructions (pdf-329kb).  For long-term projects (longer than 3 months) it is best that funds are requested and disbursed in installments.
  4. Proceed to implement the program.  Check with your program officer in Public Affairs regularly, providing updates and discussing any issues.
  5. Keep records and receipts to justify expenses funded by the award.
  6. At the interim reporting date(s), submit a Performance Progress Report (pdf-178kb) on the project or program, along with a Federal Financial Report SF425 (pdf-75kb).
  7. At the end of the program period, submit a Performance Progress Report (pdf-178kb) on the project or program, along with a Program Evaluation form (docx-13k) and a Federal Financial Report SF425 (pdf-75kb).
