Come analyze HEASARC, IRSA, and MAST data in the cloud! The Fornax Initiative is now welcoming all interested beta users.

HEASARC

NASA's designated multi-mission astronomy archive for cosmic astronomy datasets for observations in the extreme ultraviolet (EUV), X-ray, and gamma-ray wave bands, as well as for cosmic microwave background (CMB) datasets.

LAMBDA

LAMBDA is a multi-mission NASA center of expertise for cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation research; it provides CMB researchers with archive data from cosmology missions, software tools, and links to other sites of interest.

    • Required work plan moved to Expertise and Resources document (30 Jul 2026)
IXPE Cycle 4 proposers should note that the required one paragraph work plan has been moved to the Non-anonymized Expertise and Resources (E&R) document and should be non-anonymized. Consequently, the page limit for the E&R document has now been increased to 2 pages. For more information, please visit the Cycle 4 proposal guide. For any questions about proposal submission and guidelines, please contact the IXPE help desk.
    • Chandra Source Catalog Stacked Observation Detections (CSCSTACK), v2.1.1 Released (28 Jul 2026)
The Chandra Source Catalog's Stacked Observation Detections Table (CSCSTACK) includes 493,236 detections (855,402 total entries consisting of detections plus photometric upper limits) based on 10,034 stacks of X-ray observations. The stacked-observation level allows composite properties to be reported from the co-added observations for detections that would otherwise not be visible or have poor S/N in individual observations, while for higher S/N detections the per-observation properties facilitate analysis of variable sources. The CSCSTACK table is available in Browse and Xamin.
