Who Needs a Nonimmigrant Visa?
You need a nonimmigrant visa or valid ESTA approval to enter the United States temporarily for business, tourism, or visiting. For other purposes of travel, including employment, study, or performing, you must have a visa.
You will need to determine your visa category based on your purpose of travel, complete the DS-160 online application, pay the fee, select the location (either Jerusalem or Tel Aviv), and schedule an appointment for a nonimmigrant visa interview.

Travel with ESTA
If the purpose of your intended travel to the United States is business or pleasure of up to 90 days, you may be eligible to travel under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) using the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), a program administered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
To apply for ESTA, you must hold a valid Israeli biometric passport with full original validity: 10 years for adults aged 18 and over, and 5 years for those under 18. If you are 18 or older and currently hold a 5-year passport, you will need to obtain a 10-year passport before applying for ESTA.

Fee-exempt and Diplomatic/Official Visas
If you are applying for a U.S. government-sponsored J1 visa program, you are exempt from the visa processing fee (MRV) payment. You may contact U.S. Embassy Jerusalem or Embassy Branch Office Tel Aviv.
Diplomatic/Official Visas: U.S. Embassy Jerusalem at 14 David Flusser accepts visa applications for all A and G visas for Israeli government officials. The only exceptions are for ministries headquartered in Tel Aviv such as the Ministry of Defense and the Israel Defense Forces, which can submit their applications at the Embassy Branch Office in Tel Aviv. The Embassy Branch Office also accepts diplomatic and official visa applications from diplomatic missions.
All Israeli companies seeking E-visas for their owners or employees must apply at the Branch Office in Tel Aviv and establish that the trading enterprise or investment meets the requirements. The company and applicant have the burden of demonstrating fulfillment of requirements for Treaty Trader/Investor status under 9 FAM 402.9. For both first-time applicants and renewals, the company must submit supporting documents, including the individual application for the employee, by mail.
