Before assuming duties as Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. at U.S. Embassy Phnom Penh, Aleks Zittle served in the Public Diplomacy Section in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Aleks is a career member of the U.S. Department of State with 17 years of experience in overseas and Washington assignments. Overseas, she previously served as Political-Economic Chief in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and at U.S. Consulate General Karachi, Pakistan; Political Unit Chief at U.S. Embassy Baghdad, Iraq; Economic/Energy Officer in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan; and at U.S. Embassy Moscow, Russia.
In Washington, Aleks served as Special Assistant to the Under Secretary for Political Affairs covering the Middle East portfolio, Economic Chief on the Iraq desk, and in the Bureau of Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs.
Prior to joining the Department of State, Aleks was a tax consultant with Ernst & Young LLP. She holds a B.A. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Texas and an M.S. in Taxation from Golden Gate University.
