U.S. Embassy Chisinau will transition to a new visa appointment system on May 30, 2025.
What does this mean for you?
From May 26 starting at 17:00 to May 29, 2025 until 23:59, visa applicants will not be able to schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments; generate payment slips to pay new visa fees; request expedited appointments or talk to a call center operator.
Q&A:
Q: I already have an appointment scheduled. What do I do?
A: Attend your appointment on the scheduled date and time. No further action is needed.
Q: I paid the visa application fee, but I haven’t scheduled an interview yet. What do I do?
A: Schedule your appointment before the appointment system is restricted on May 26, 2025, using the current appointment scheduling system. Otherwise, you will have to wait until after May 30, 2025, to schedule your interview.
Q: I need a visa, but I haven’t done anything yet. What do I do?
A: We recommend that you pay the visa application fee and schedule your appointment as soon as possible. The pause on new visa fee payments will go into effect on May 26 at 17:00. After the transition, the new system will continue to accept payments starting on May 30.
Q: I already started the process for my visa, but I was instructed to provide additional documents.
A: We recommend that you drop off the requested documents at the authorized location as soon as possible because the courier will not accept documents between May 27, 2025, through May 29, 2025. The courier will resume normal operations starting on May 30, 2025.
