Visit of U.S. State Department Official to Bamako
Bamako, Mali – July 21, 2025
The U.S. Embassy in Bamako is pleased to announce the visit of William Stevens, Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) for African Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, who is traveling to Mali on July 21-22. This visit reflects the United States’ continued commitment to deepening our partnership with the people of Mali and strengthening the bilateral relationship.
During his visit, DAS Stevens will meet with Malian government officials, members of civil society, and business leaders to reaffirm the importance of the U.S.-Mali partnership. Discussions will focus on strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including security, education, health, and expanding commercial ties.
The United States values its long-standing relationship with Mali and remains committed to working together in a spirit of respect, transparency, and shared purpose.
