Open
Geospatial Consortium provides a specification for serving geographic information through the web
as georeferenced images; this is called the
Web
Map Service specification. In addition to providing a visible representation of selected geospatial
data, it allows the scientific attributes of the data to be queried geographically. The services listed
below conform to the WMS specification version 1.3.0 and earlier.
