The Embassy does not accept unsolicited proposals for funding. The U.S. Embassy posts notice of funding opportunities (NOFO) on https://www.grants.gov/ and Embassy Kigali grants. Please note that all requests for funding must be received through an open competition, follow the guidelines listed in the NOFO, and must be submitted using the embassy’s application form.

The SHE WINS Rapid Response Fund (RRF)
Embassy Kigali is excited to share information about a new global opportunity available for women-led and women-serving organizations focused on Women, Peace and Security (WPS), the Supporting Her Empowerment, Women in New and Inclusive Security Rapid Response Fund (SHE WINS RRF). Through this initiative, Embassy Kigali welcomes you to apply for funding up to $250,000 to respond to and seize new openings for the advancement of WPS in fragile and conflict-affected contexts. The SHE WINS RRF seeks to support projects that respond to changing peace and security contexts, including closing contexts or preventing backsliding on previous WPS accomplishments. Admissions are rolling; details, including eligibility criteria and application instructions are available at the SHE WINS RRF application page.
We will accept applications on a rolling basis, so there is no deadline.
Public Diplomacy Grants
The U.S. Embassy Kigali Public Affairs Section, PAS, of the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce that funding is available through its Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program. This is an Annual Program Statement, outlining our funding priorities, the strategic themes we focus on, and the procedures for submitting requests for funding.
Ambassador’s Small Grants (ASG) Program
The Ambassador’s Small Grants Program is part of the U.S. Government’s efforts to support economic development, improve livelihoods, and boost value-added agriculture.
The U.S. Embassy publishes a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) once a year to invite applications to the ASG program. The NOFO is usually published in June and grants are awarded in September. To learn more about the ASG Program, send an e-mail to kigaliasgp@state.gov.
