Office of Civil Rights

The Office of Civil Rights is the focal point for all civil rights, equal opportunity programs, and affirmative employment functions in the Department of the Interior. We work to develop and enforce civil rights and equal opportunity programs pursuant to existing laws, Executive Orders and regulations and to ensure equal opportunity for all Departmental employees, job applicants, and Federally assisted programs by the Department.

    EEO Complaints Processing & Compliance Division

    The Division coordinates, processes, and monitors all informal and formal EEO complaints. The Division adjudicates and issues all Final Agency Decisions, develops and enforces complaint-related policies and procedures, and provides technical guidance to ensure compliance with settlement agreements and remedial orders.
