Elevated fire we weather conditions will be possible Tuesday afternoon across the western half of the area. Do your part to prevent fires from starting!
The heat and elevated fire weather conditions (western Oklahoma and western north Texas) are the main concerns today. By late afternoon, a cold front will move into far northwest Oklahoma and lead to a very low chance of thunderstorms capable of producing gusty winds.
Summer heat persists into next week with low to medium rain chances toward end of this week.
Dont' forget anyone in a hot car. Everyone operates on auto-pilot once in a while. Have a plan! Place a bag or other item in the backseat to remind you of passengers after you park. Place a stuffed animal in the front seat as a reminder to check for passengers. Consider additional methods such as phone alarms, partner/buddy check-ins, or built-in car reminder systems.
