Our Origin
In 2016, Azusa City Library received a Sparks! Ignition grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The grant focus was to explore the dynamics and pathway necessary for us to shift from a collaboration between local organizations to an effective partnership to provide English as a Second Language instruction throughout the community. In other words, our goal was to move our program, Grassroots ESL, from being “the library’s program,” to being “the community’s program,” with shared ownership and responsibility. Please read this whitepaper for more information.
Thank you for your generous support!
