Announcement

All visa appointments must be booked online; each applicant (including babies), must have their own appointment.  It takes two weeks to process a visa.  If your intended travel is within that two week period, you may want to consider rescheduling your intended travel.  For your information, you should not make U.S. travel plans if you do not have an approved U.S. visa in your passport.  In some instances, your visa application may require additional administrative processing of an indeterminate timeframe.

Please follow the guidance for the visa for which you intend to apply. Please note that we can only accept visa appointment requests from Bermudians, Bermuda legal residents, or individuals physically present and a legal resident of our consular district. The provisions of 22 CFR 41.101(a) preclude acceptance or processing of a regular nonimmigrant visa application when the applicant is not a legal resident of this consular district at the time of application, including completion and submission of the DS-160.

WHAT IS A VISA?

A citizen of a foreign country who seeks to enter the United States generally must first obtain a U.S. visa, which is placed in the traveler’s passport.

Citizens of Bermuda traveling to the United States do not require a nonimmigrant visa for travel up to 180 days, except for the travel purposes described at the following website: Visa Requirements – Citizens of Bermuda.  Additionally, Bermudian citizens do not require a visa unless they are ineligible for a visa under U.S. immigration law, or have previously violated the terms of their immigration status in the U.S.

Certain international travelers may be eligible to travel to the United States without a visa under the Visa Waiver Program, which is administered by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The Visa section of this website is about U.S. visas for foreign citizens and nationals to travel to the United States.

Visit Travel.State.gov for additional information.

Note: U.S. citizens do not need a U.S. visa for travel to the United States. When planning travel abroad a U.S. citizen may need a visa issued by the embassy or consulate of the country they wish to visit.
