Incorporating Metabolic Surgery and Pharmacotherapy to Optimize Outcomes for People with Obesity
In this webinar, Dr. Anita Courcoulas will describe the impact of obesity on cancer. She will then examine the current evidence for the role of weight loss induced by different treatment modalities, on health and cancer risk. Following this, she will elucidate potential biologic mechanisms for these effects. Finally, Dr. Courcoulas will outline future research directions for the multi-modal treatment of obesity.
About the Behavioral Research Program
BRP research priorities address key psychological and behavioral targets across the cancer control continuum, from prevention to end-of-life care. These priorities include basic behavioral and psychological science, interventions in cancer control areas such as tobacco use, diet and energy balance, and sun protection, and processes and effects of communication and informatics.
