Notice

Due to an increase in violence throughout the city of Kinshasa, the U.S. Embassy in Kinshasa advises U.S. citizens to shelter-in-place and then safely depart while commercial options are available. The U.S. Embassy in Kinshasa is closed to the public.

Emergency Contacts

If you are a U.S. citizen with an emergency, you can contact the embassy 24 hours a day. Please note the numbers below are NOT for visa inquiries. 

Emergency contact numbers for the U.S. Embassy in Kinshasa are as follows:

  • For after-hours emergencies, on weekends, or on holidays, please call +243 81-556-0151/152 and ask to speak to the Duty Officer.
  • For emergencies during business hours, please call +243 97-261-6145, Monday through Thursday, 07:30 am to 5:15 pm, or Friday, 07:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Please note that, the Consular Section is located at the U.S. Embassy compound on Avenue des Aviateurs #310 in Gombe, the entrance is on Avenue Dumi across from St. Anne’s Residence. U.S. citizens may come to the Embassy for emergency assistance during business hours.
