Annual Program Statement

The U.S. Mission to the Republic of Italy’s Public Affairs Section (PAS) is pleased to announce that funding is available through its Public Diplomacy Grants Program. This is an Annual Program Statement outlining funding priorities, strategic themes, and the procedures for submitting requests for funding. PA Italy invites proposals for programs that strengthen cultural ties between the United States and Italy through cultural and exchange programming that highlight shared values and promote bilateral cooperation.

 

Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF 2026)
The U.S. Mission in Italy invites alumni of U.S. government-funded and sponsored exchange programs to apply for the 2026 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF 2026).
AEIF provides grants ranging from $5,000 to $35,000 to support alumni-led, community-based projects across Italy that celebrate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence (Freedom 250) and highlight American leadership, innovation, and freedom of expression.
Selected projects will bring together exchange alumni to strengthen networks, expand collaboration with U.S. institutions, and advance citizen diplomacy through initiatives with measurable public impact.

Sports Visitor Program 2024

Sports Visitors are young non-elite athletes and coaches chosen by U.S. missions overseas to visit the United States for a fast-paced two week exchange program. These sports-themed programs offer participants the opportunity to interact with Americans and experience American society, culture, and values firsthand. The activities include sessions on nutrition, strength and conditioning,Title IX, adaptive sports, and team building. Special emphasis is placed on the visitors’ development of personal action plans that they use upon their return home.
Athletes and coaches in various sports are chosen by U.S. embassies and consulates.
