If you feel your life or safety is threatened, or would like to report a crime, please contact the Public Security Directorate (PSD), the Jordanian national police.  911 is Jordan’s centralized emergency line. Call this number should you need immediate police or medical assistance. The U.S. Embassy does not guarantee your safety in Jordan; this is the responsibility of the government of Jordan.  The Embassy does not provide emergency services. 

If you are a U.S. citizen and need to report an after-hours emergency, please call our hotline at (+962-6) 590-6000.  This number is for emergency situations only. Emergency events include:

• Deaths
• Arrests
• Actual or Potential Parental Child Abductions
• Domestic and Sexual Violence
• Extreme Destitution
• Emergencies Involving Minors or Someone with Mental Illness
