Continuing Education for Library Staff

Continuing education and professional development are important components of library service so that library workers can update their skills and provide the highest level of service to their patrons and communities.

Continuing education refers to formal courses of study after initial education for either personal or professional reasons. Professional development refers to the ongoing acquisition of new knowledge, skills, and competencies related to a profession and/or job responsibilities.
