ALPHARETTA, Ga. —  Congressman Rich McCormick (GA-07) hosted a successful job fair today that brought together more than 100 employers and 1,200 job seekers from across Georgia, connecting hardworking Georgians with employment opportunities in industries ranging from healthcare and manufacturing to technology, public safety, education, skilled trades, and veterans services. Attendees had the opportunity to meet directly with hiring managers, submit résumés, interview for open positions, and learn about career training and workforce development resources.

Birth Tourism

Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressman Rich McCormick (GA-07) introduced the House companion to Senator Marsha Blackburn's Ban Birth Tourism Act of 2026. This legislation will close a loophole in U.S. immigration law by preventing foreign nationals from traveling to the United States for the primary purpose of giving birth. As a result, their child automatically acquires American citizenship.

XTRA106.3FM – On April 16th, 2026, I faced one of the toughest and most controversial votes I’ve had during my time in Congress. A bipartisan bill to extend Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitian nationals came before the U.S. House, and I voted in favor of extending this status. Of note, this vote didn’t change anything, but set off a firestorm of controversy. After much research and discussion with experts in immigration law, my position has evolved.

NDAA FY2027

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Rich McCormick participated in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) markup. After nearly 14 hours of debate and negotiation, McCormick and his colleagues in the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) reviewed nearly 1,000 amendments, and it passed out of committee by a vote of 42-12.  H.R. 8800 will authorize $1.15 trillion for America's national defense. For nearly 65 consecutive years, the NDAA has been enacted into law and Congressman McCormick is hopeful that this year is no different.
