The Embassy of the United States in Ulaanbaatar announces an open competition for past participants (“alumni”) of U.S. government-funded and U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs to submit applications to the Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund. We seek proposals from teams of at least two alumni that meet all program eligibility requirements. Exchange alumni interested in participating in AEIF should submit proposals to Alumni@usembassy.mn

The English Access Micro-scholarship Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and is part of the Office of English Language Program’s suite of initiatives.

The OPEN Program offers 8-week professional development courses developed by U.S. universities on topics such as Teaching Grammar Communicatively, Using Educational Technology in the English Language Classroom, Teaching English Academic Writing to Speakers of Other Languages (formerly Developing and Teaching Academic Writing Courses), Teaching English to Young Learners, Professional Development for Teacher Trainers, Creating and Implementing Online Courses, Introduction to Contemporary English Language Teaching Methods (formerly TESOL Methodology), Fostering Student Motivation and Engagement, Successful Classrooms for English Learners with Special Needs.

The Public Affairs Section at the U.S. Embassy in Ulaanbaatar supports a variety of cultural exchange programs that further U.S. foreign policy, foster America’s artistic excellence and promote mutual understanding and respect for other cultures and traditions.

The Arts Envoy Program shares the best of the U.S. arts community with the world to foster cross-cultural understanding and collaboration and to demonstrate shared values and aspirations. American arts professionals– including performing artists, visual artists, poets, playwrights, theatrical and film directors, curators, and others– travel overseas to conduct workshops, give performances, and mentor young people. Programs seek to connect with international publics who might not otherwise have the opportunity to engage with American arts professionals.

Established in 1963, the U.S. Department of State’s office of ART in Embassies (ART) plays a vital role in our nation’s public diplomacy through a culturally expansive mission, creating temporary and permanent exhibitions, artist programming, and publications. With over 200 venues, ART curates temporary and permanent exhibitions for the representational spaces of all U.S. chanceries consulates, and embassy residences worldwide, selecting and commissioning contemporary art from the U.S. and the host countries.
