Accepted Forms of Payment
At the Consular Section, we accept the following payment methods:
– Cash in U.S. Dollars or the equivalent in CFA francs (XOF)
When paying in cash, please bring exact change.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT OLD $100 NOTES.
The Embassy exchange rate is determined by the U.S. Department of State.
The current rate is: $1 = 600 CFA
Pay the $130 adult passport book renewal fee and/or passport card fee via the U.S. government’s secure payment site via U.S. or international credit or debit card, electronic funds transfer from a U.S.-based bank account, Amazon Pay, or Pay Pal.
You can also pay the $135 minor passport and $165 first time adult passport fees via the U.S. government’s secure payment site via U.S. or international credit or debit card, electronic funds transfer from a U.S. based bank account, Amazon Pay, or Pay Pal.
Starting from March 2026, to apply for a U.S. passport and consular report of birth abroad applicants have to pay their application fees online on Pay.gov
