Key Points:
Rainfall so far this summer is averaging below normal across much of Wisconsin. There have been a few pockets of heavier rain across the Fox Valley due to recent thunderstorm activity.
Severe Drought (D2) has returned to the southwest third of Vilas County and the northern third of Oneida counties.
The remainder of the area has been classified in Abnormally Dry (D0) or Moderate Drought (D1) conditions.
Discussion:
Outside portions of northeast WI (Fox Valley rainfall has been below normal this summer, resulting in worsening drought conditions. Some locations over central and north-central WI saw 50-75% of normal rainfall during July.,
