Responsibilities of City Council:
- Establish overall City policies, conducts public hearings, and considers staff reports and public input before making decisions
- Approve appropriate resolutions, ordinances, and an annual city budget.
- Appoint and oversee the City Manager and City Attorney.
- Attend meetings of other agencies as appropriate to enhance communications and coordination.
- Establish City Goals and Priorities.
- Appoint interested citizens to various advisory boards, commissions, and committees.
- Serve as Board for the Successor Agency to the former Redevelopment Agency, the Azusa Public Financing Authority, and the Azusa Utility Board.
Meetings
Meeting are held on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month in the Azusa Civic Auditorium (213 E. Foothill Blvd.) Closed Session Meetings take place at 6:30pm and Regular Meeting/Ceremonial Meetings take place at 7:30pm.
