About Us
REFLEX is led by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory under the direction and support of the Department of Energy’s Industrial Technologies Office. Our technical scope includes modeling & analysis, tool & technology guidance, best practice utility program & rate typologies, and insights from field demonstrations. We are developing and demonstrating innovative approaches to harness load flexibility as a strategy to cut operational costs and boost competitiveness in critical industries including data centers, and municipal water treatment.
REFLEX activities are directly informed and vetted by a Program Stakeholder Advisory Group (PSAG) composed of industrial end users, utilities, technology providers, industry organizations, educational and research institutions, state and regional planning bodies, load flexibility aggregators, and other service providers. PSAG members help to drive the direction of REFLEX activities, translating program outputs into market impacts.
