Overview

The United States Embassy’s Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) in Uruguay is responsible for promoting educational, cultural, and professional ties between the United States of America and Uruguay. These programs seek to promote the free exchange of information and ideas which increases the mutual understanding between the citizens of the two countries.

The PDS works closely with government entities, the private sector, civil society, and Uruguayan academia to expand and strengthen bilateral relations. These activities are highly varied and may include conferences, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, presentations by academics, writers, and artists, as well as the administration of professional, academic, and English-teaching support exchange programs in Uruguay.
