Residential Driveway Permits

If your residence is on a State highway, you will need a permit from the NYS Department of Transportation to build or modify a driveway.

Insurance and Bonding: While homeowners doing their own work are exempt from the insurance requirements any contractors working on their behalf of the property/home-owner must be listed on the permit and provide satisfactory proof of insurance as set forth below and may be required to provide a Surety Bond.
