Surrender Policies

We can only accept stray and owner-surrendered animals from Rowan County.
Notice: We are currently only accepting 1 stray cat/kitten per household per day due to the large number of felines arriving in our shelter daily.
Owner surrendered pets are accepted by appointment only as space allows. Please contact us to schedule. Each owner surrendered animal must arrive at the shelter on time with 1 completed Owner Surrender Questionnaire Form per animal.

We encourage everyone to consider the Shelter as a last option for surrendering their pets, as finding adoptive homes is never guaranteed. Please see the links below for alternatives to surrendering your pet to the animal shelter.
