Don't Idle
Avoid vehicle idling at highway rest areas. Idling consumes gas and gets 0 miles per gallon.
CarPool
Use carpools and public transportation to reduce vehicle miles, emissions, congestion, and energy usage.

By properly inflating your vehicle tires, you can maximize your gas mileage by about 3.3 percent.
Recycle
Recycle materials including used engine oil, glass, plastics, paper, and metals to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills. Recycling can protect the environment and save landfill space and energy.
Regular Maintenance
Regular maintenance of your vehicle reduces the amount of fuel, oil and fluids that drip onto the road. These pollutants are easily carried by stormwater into nearby streams where they harm aquatic life.
CFLs
Replace your incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs). CFLs save energy, last longer and result in reduced carbon emissions.
